RECENT NEWS:

27 students from the Dallastown Video Production Club traveled west to attend the STN Convention in Long Beach, California in March 2023. The convention brings together students and teachers for four days of education, interaction and competition.

Altogether nine video entries were completed on time and submitted for judging. The Movie Trailer team had six hours to produce a movie trailer based on a given prompt that portrays scenes, basic plot, and mood of a fictional film in order to gain audience interest. The team  developed and produced a great story about an athlete overcoming adversity and earned and Honorable Mention. The Crazy 8 Vertical Film team was a larger team competition challenging the students to write, shoot and edit a sort film in 8 hours, with the twist of filming in the vertical format to be mobile device friendly. This team worked together well and produced a short thriller that earned them 2nd place. This trip allowed the students an opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in class to a real world environment as well as expose them to professionals in the broadcast and film world.
